I am Hygelac, Minmatar Fanatic, Wordsmith, Combat Specialist and lately: Visionary!

Although I’m getting ahead of myself so I’ll backtrack


As a child I played Elite obsessively, roaming … oh wait hold on, that’s too far back! I know, I’ll start were all things start :


I joined eve in January 2004, having abandoned Dark Ages of Camelot as a Bad Idea. Having lived an online Life as Hygelac in the Mythical realm of Midgard, I found myself reluctant to part with what I thought of as a great name. And so with much reading of the old player guide, I created a Minmatar Brutor character.


Personally I see the Brutors as a mix between Klingons, Narns and Vikings. Bundle them all together and add Shades to the mix and you have everyone’s Minmatar stereotype. Aggressive, Powerful, Honourable and yet steeped in a strong background of traditions and history … and a handy resistance to UV damage of the Eyes


Knowing how I see myself is the crux of knowing who I am. Of course, trying to be like the above stereotypes and actually achieving it are very different things.


So it was with all this in mind that I joined the world of Eve, and like every new citizen of the capsuler community, I began hump veldspar with a passion, whilst trying to treat Eve like Elite and making huge financial losses (well huge for a new guy) when I tried to do things like freight a shipment of Tobacco to the nearest industrial world. After a few weeks of this, I felt it was time to reach out to my fellow pilots and mine Veldspar in the futuristic equivalent of giant knitting circles, with other likeminded types.


Bio

For years, I've lived a dboule life.

In the day, I do my Job - I ride the bus,

roll up my sleeves with the hoi-polloi.

But at night, I live a life of exhilaration,

of missed heartbeats and adrenalin.

And, if the truth be known,

a life of dubious virtue.


I won't deny it - I've been engaged in

violence, even indulged in it.

I've maimed and killed adversaries,

and not merely in self-defence.

I've exhibited disregard for life, limb

and property, and savoured every moment.


You may not think it to look at me,

but I have commanded armies and conquered

worlds.

And though in acheiving these things

I've set morality aside, I have no regrets.


For though, I've lived a double life, at least I

can say: "I have Lived!"

My Career path in Eve has been very focused and I like to think that I've chosen corps with a keen eye to my objectives at that time.

I specialize in flying Minmatar ships, in fact to see me in anything else is a rarity. I can fly all Minmatar ships except for Interdictors and Titans. Below is a list of ships and setups I'm currently using for my own reference, feel free to comment:
